Title: Clinical study of aripiprazole and risperidone in treatment of schizophrenia
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of aripiprazole in the treatment of schizophrenia.Method:Eighty hospitalized schizophrenias with a course less than 3 years were randomly divided into two groups,one was treated with aripiprazole(n=40)and the other was treated with resperidone(n=40) for 6 weeks.Both groups were administered with the positive and negative symptoms scale(PANSS),treatment emergent signs and symptoms(TESS) and rating scale for extrapyramidel side effects(RSESE) to evaluate their treatment efficacy and side reaction respectively.Results:The efficacies of both drugs in treatment of schizophrenia were similar,the occurrence of EPS in aripiprazole group was 13 cases(32.5%).It was significantly lower than that of risperidone group(22 cases,55.0%)(P0.05).Conclusion:Aripiprazole is a safe antipsychotic drug,it has good effect and good compliance.
