Title: Transbronchial arterial intervention treatment of lung cancer in 58 cases: An analysis of therapeutic effects
Abstract: Objective To evaluate curative effect of transbronchial arterial intervention treatment of lung cancer. Methods The 58 patients were included in this study. First, bronchial arteriography was performed to identify the tumor-feeding branch, and to take super-selective catheterization into it. After cisplatin, mitomycin and 5-FU was infused, embolization with mixture of Lipodol and cisplatin was carried out. Results The tumor blush of 49 patients stained obviously. The feeding arteries of 28 patients through the second treatment decreased obviously. In the 58 patients, complete response were obtained in 5, partial response in 43, steady disease in 10, and no deterioration was seen. The overall response rate was 82.8%; relieved rate of clinical symptoms was 55.7%. Conclusion Transbronchial arterial intervention by super-selective tumor-feeding arteries catheterization has good short-term effect in the treatment of lung cancer and the clinical symptoms were relieved evidently.
