Title: Wet processing of silk fabric with natural tea polyphenols
Abstract: Taking ferrous sulfate and copper sulfate as a mordant separately, the mordant dyeing of silk fabric with tea polyphenols(TP-95) in one bath is studied. The optimized process, including the amount of mordant, dyeing temperature, dyeing time and pH value,is determined by orthogonal experiment. The properties such as color fastnesses of the silk dyeings are also tested. The results show that both of the mordants can significantly improve the dyeing properties of the polyphenols, and the mordant cuprous sulfate is more helpful than ferrous sulfate. The dyeings can achieve high K/S value of 11.29,good color fastnesses and anti-UV property at the optimum conditions of copper ion 2 g/L,TP-95 5%(omf),pH value 6.4,dip dyeing at 90 ℃ for 90 min.
