Title: Effect of rare earth as a mordant on silk dyeing with tea polyphenols
Abstract: The effect of rare earth used as mordant for natural dye tea polyphenol(TP-95) on silk fabric was studied, and one bath dyeing process was adopted to complex rare earth mordant and tea polyphenol. The influences of dyeing pH, temperature and time on silk dyeing and multi-functional finishing were investigated. And the optimal dyeing process of silk dyed with TP-95 was found: bath ratio 1∶50, TP-95 5%(omf),pH=6.0, mordant concentration 5 g/L, dyed at 80 ℃ for 70 min. At the same time, the resistance to ultraviolet performance(UPF value) of dyed silk fabric with mordant was much higher than that of the undyed fabric. And the K/S value, fastness to washing, rubbing and light were improved to some extent, which could meet the demands of people on multi-function and high quality of silk.
