Title: Genetic Types of Hantavirus Carried by Rodent Hosts in Hulunbeier,Inner Mongolia
Abstract: To gain more insights into hantavirus infection and types carried by rodents in Hulunbeier,Inner Mongolia,Hantavirus antigens in the rat lungs were detected by immunofluorescence assay.Partial S segment sequences(620~999 nt) were amplified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The phylogenetic trees were performed by Clustal X(1.83) and Phylip 3.63 software. Results showed a total of 185 rodents were trapped in the epidemic areas, and hantavirus antigens were identified in 7 out of these lung samples(3.78%).Six were Apodemus agrarius and one was Apodemus peninsulae.Partial S segment sequences(620~999nt)were recovered from 6 samples and sequenced.Phylogenetic analysis of these S segment sequences indicated that all viruses belong to Hantaan virus(HTNV).Furthermore, these viruses could be divided into two distinct lineages. One lineage are NAa90,NAa100,NAa118 and NAa121,which was closely related to Bao14 isolated by Apodemus agrarius in Heilongjiang province.Another are NAa78 and NAa137,which had much divergence with A9(94.5%~95.5% identities). The result of phylogenetic analysis was consistent with that of partial M segment sequences(2001~2301nt).Hantavirus carried by Apodemus agrarius and A.peninsulae have two different genetic subtypes, and the HV types are diverse in Hulunbeier.
