Title: Current Status of Sub-Water Supply Systems and Drinking Water Quality in Wanzhou District
Abstract: Objective To learn about the current status of sub-water supply systems and drinking water quality in downtown of Wanzhou and provide scientific evidence for the management and supervision of water supply.Methods Field survey and sampling of sub-water supply systems was conducted during 2004-2007,in which water supply facilities were inspected and water samples were taken.Results A total of 205 water samples from sub-water supply systems were taken,160 were qualified(78.05%).The qualitied rate was 74.73% for residential areas,78.46% for hotels and 83.67% for others,which had statistical significant differences(χ 2=18.25,P 0.05).The difference on qualitied rates of drinking water in 2005 and in 2007 was statistical significant(χ 2=5.13,P 0.05).Conclusion The qualitied rate of the quality of drinking water from sub-water supply systems in downtown of Wanzhou was low,and even lower in residential areas and hotels,which posed potential risk for the people's health.
