Title: Effect of Temperature on Friction Performance of Paper-Based Friction Materials
Abstract: Effect of temperature on friction was investigated by using an inertia friction tester with paper-based friction material reinforced by carbon fiber as friction plate and 45~# steel as separate plate.Experiment results show that temperature affects not only shape of friction torque curves and values of friction torque, but also dynamic and static coefficient of friction. In lower temperature, shapes of friction torque are symmetrical and values of friction torque and friction coefficient are large. With increasing temperature of separate plate, shapes of friction torque became dissymmetrical, and dynamic and static coefficient of friction declined in this process.Experiment results are valuable for design of automatic transmission and paper-based friction material.
