Title: Systematic Review of Aripiprazole versus Risperidone in the Treatment of Schizophrenia
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To study the difference in therapeutic effects and side effects between aripiprazole and risperidone.METHODS:A total of 14 papers about control study comparing aripiprazole with risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia retrieved from home were subjected to system evaluation.RESULTS:There was no significant difference on clinical efficacy between aripiprazole group and risperidone group(χ2=0.02,P0.05,OR=1.04,95%CI(0.80~1.35)).The incidences of adverse reactions such as muscle tension gain,akathisia,tremor,weight gain,menstrual change and galactorrhea in risperidone group were significantly higher than in aripiprazole group(χ2=14.96~65.37,P0.05~0.001).CONCLUSION:Aripiprazole is as effective as but less toxic than risperidone for the treatment of schizophrenia.
