Title: Evaluation on support measures of surge chamber of Gangquhe-1 Hydropower Station
Abstract: We establish the model of terrane and surge chamber by ANSYS for Gangquhe-1 Hydropower Station,which will be translated into FLAC3D numerical model,so as to simulate the excavation and support of surge chamber.Based on calculation of two construction process schemes,we evaluate stability of the existing support measures by analyzing the characteristics of horizontal and vertical displacement and stress-strain of reinforced concrete lining structure and surrounding rock during construction and operation respectively,and explain the collapse of shaft lining during construction.Simulation results show that the largest vertical displacement of reinforced concrete lining structure is less than 10 mm;the largest horizontal displacement is less than 9 mm;the maximum principle stress is 2.24 MPa;the stress state of lining structure is significantly improved and failures are avoided.We conclude that FLAD3D is an effective way to simulate support measures of surge chamber.
