Title: Clinical features of urinary tract infections in climacteric women and clinical outcomes
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical features of urinary tract infections in climacteric women and observe the clinical outcomes so as to provide guidance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.METHODS A total of 62 climacteric women with urinary tract infections,who were treated in the hospital from Apr 2012to Jan 2013,were enrolled in the study,then the clinical features,infection sites,and distribution of pathogens were retrospectively analyzed,all the subjects were divided into two groups according to the treatment programs;totally 30cases in the control group were treated with levofloxacin,while 32cases in the observation group were given levofloxacin combined with Sanjin tablets,the clinical outcomes were observed,and the statistical analysis was performed with the use of SPSS13.0software.RESULTS Of the 62climacteric women with urinary tract infections,there were 45(72.6%)cases of lower urinary tract infections and 17(27.4%)cases of upper urinary tract infections.Totally 23(37.1%)strains of gram-positive bacteria and 39(62.9%)strains of gram-negative bacteria have been isolated.The total effective rate of treatment was 96.9%in the observation group,76.7%in the control group(P0.05).CONCLUSION The lower urinary tract infections are very common in the climacteric women;the gram-negative bacteria are the main pathogens causing the infections;it is necessary to develop effective medication programs according to the characteristics of diseases so as to improve the clinical outcomes.
