Title: Intraglomerular metastasis from mediastinum neuroendocrine carcinoma
Abstract: We report one rare case with intraglomerular carcinoma metastasis . Renal biopsy specimen was examined by light microscopy, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and transmission electron microscopy. Histologically, abnormal cells stacked within glomerular capillary lumina. Immunofluorescence result:abnormal cells showed all negative staining for IgG, IgA, IgM, C_3, C_(1q), FRA, ALb, κ and λ. Immunohistochemistry showed negative staining for LCA and F_8, but positive express for chromogranin. Ultrastructurally, abnormal cells contained characteristic dense-core granules. The pathologic diagnosis was intraglomerular metastasis of neuroendocrine carcinoma. These results suggest that electron microscopic and immunohistochemical techniques are of great value in the diagnostic pathology.
