Title: Curative Effect of Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation Combined with Ozone Chemonucleolysis on Lumbar Disc Herniation
Abstract: Objective:To observe the curative effect of radiofrequency thermocoagulation combined with ozone chemonucleolysis on lumbar disc herniation . Methods: Total 173 cases suffered lumbar disc herniation , were treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the herniated disk material under the guidance of CT, and received intradiscal injection of an oxygen-ozone mixture. The effects were assessed with visual analoque scale ( VAS) and Macnab’s evaluating method. Results: At 1 days, 1 weeks,1 months,3 months after treatment, the VAS scale were lower than before operating(P0.001). Curative effect evaluation at 3 months, excellent and good rate was 93.06%,and total effective rate was 98. 27% . No severe complications occured during the follow up.Conclusions: The method of radiofrequency thermocoagulation combined with ozone chemonucleolysis proves to be significant, safe and worthwhile to be widely used in clinical treatment of lumbar disc herniation.
