Title: Relationship between PCNA,Ki67 antigen and laryngeal carcinomas
Abstract: Objective To study the correlation between the expressions of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and Ki67 antigen, and laryngeal carcinomas. Methods The expressions of PCNA and Ki67 antigen of 40 squamous cell carcinomas (13 superglottic carcinomas,27 glottic carcinomas) and 12 adjacent normal tissue were studied with flow cytometricimmunology. Results There were much significant differences of PCNA and Ki67 expressions between carcinomas and adjacent tissues,P0.001,and there were much significant differences between well moderately and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinomas,P0.01.There was difference between lymph node metastasis and negative lymph node,P0.05,the expressions of PCNA and Ki67 in the survival were lower than in the recurrence and died group, but no difference between the early and late stages,P0.05.Conclusions The expressions of PCNA and Ki67 antigen are strong correlated both with histological grade and lymph node metastasis, but no correlation between the various clinical stages. The high expressions of the two indices are important biologic characteristics in laryngeal carcinomas.
