Abstract: The three novels written by Yu Hua in 1990s, Call out in Drizzle,Living,Xu Sanguan's Tale of Selling Blood, are of great importance in his course of literary creation. The novels presents the paternal characters in hierarchical order, namely, grandfather-father-son, with the fatherhood being placed at the focal point. They stage the evolution of fatherhood from being overturned to reconstructed with a purpose of ardently recalling and hailing the goodness of human nature. The novels also convey the author's pondering upon the order and the human nature. The hierarchical paternal characters has become the distinct representation for the author's creation process of literary works.
