Title: Rehabilitation Effectivness of Occupational Therapy for Patients with Stroke
Abstract: Objective To promote overall rehabilitation of the patients with stroke more quickly and effectively.Methods Seventy-two patients with stroke were randomly divided into 2 groups. Thirty-six patients in the observation group received physiotherapy and occupational therapy after vital signs stabilized,and the ramaining 36 patients received physiotherapy in the first 2 weeks and then occupational therapy.The rehabilitation therapy of both groups lasted for 6 weeks and the scores for Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) were examined before and 2,4 and 6 weeks after rehabilitation respectively. Results The FAM score and MBI score were increased 6 weeks after rehabilitation therapy in both groups (P0.05 for all). The FAM score and MBI score in the observation group were significatly higher than in the control group (P0.05 for all). Conclusion Occupational therapy can promote the rehabilitation of the patients with stroke.The combined use of occupationd therapy and physical therapy can significantly improve curative effects.
