Title: Synthesis and surface chemical properties of trimeric anionic surfactant
Abstract: A trimeric anionic surfactant(Ⅲ-12S)was prepared by etherification,ring-opening reaction and sulfation, using glycerin,epichlorohydrin,l-dodecanol and chlorosulfonic acid as main raw materials. The surfactant was characterized by elemental analysis,HPLC and MS.The surface chemical properties under different temperature and different NaCl concentration were studied by surface tension measurement. The micellization thermodynamic parameters of the surfactant solution were calculated. The results showed that the surfactant Ⅲ-12S has a lower cmc and better capability for lowering the surface tension. The surface tension(γcmc)and critical micelle concentration(cmc)is 27.54 mN/m and 4.898×10-5 mol/L respectively at 40 ℃ and NaCl concentration 0.20 mol/L.The thermodynamic data showed that the micellization process for the surfactant Ⅲ-12S is entropy driven.
