Title: Relationship between dose of irbesartan and renal protection in patients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract: Objective: To observe the relationship between dose of irbesartan and renal protection in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: Seventy patients were randomly divided into 2 groups and treated with irbesartan 300 and 150 mg·d-1,respectively.Urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) was measured 12 weeks after treatment. Results: The level of UAER in both groups dropped sharply(P0.01),and the level after treated with irbesartan 300 mg·d-1 was lower than that with 150 mg·d-1(P0.05).In addition, the level of serum creatiniria(SCr) and urea nitrogen(BUN) also dropped(P0.05) while other target indexes did not markedly change. Conclusion: Irbesartan dose is positively related to its renal protection.
