Title: Influence of irbesartan on serum uric acid and left ventricular function in hypertension incorporated with hyperuricacidemia metabolism patients
Abstract: Objective: To observe and analyze the influence of irbesartan in essential hypertension incorporated with hyperuricacidemia metabolism in the elderly patients and compare it with felodipine. Methods: 72 elderly patients with hypertension incorporated with hyperuricacidemia are divided randomly and averagely into irbesartan group(n=36) and felodipine group(n=36),and treated by 150 mg irbesartan or 5 mg felodipine once per day respectively for 8 weeks. Results: The total effective rates of decompression were 81% for the irbesartan group and 75% for the felodipine group, respectively. There was no significant difference in curative effect between the two groups(P0.05).Compared with pretreatment, the serum uric acid level was descented(-126±38)μmom/L(P0.01) in the irbesartan group and(-25±32)μmom/L(P0.05) in the felodipine group, there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).After 8 weeks treatment, the IVST,LVPWT and LVMI of LV function descented while LVEF of LV function ascended apparently(P0.01).There was significant difference between the two groups in IVST,LVPWT,LVMI and LVEF of LV function(P0.05).Conclusion: Irbesartan can reduce BP and UA effectively as well as improve left ventricular function.
