Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To analyze the outpatient antibiotic use before and after pharmaceutical intervention and evaluate the completeness of the prescriptions and rationality of antibiotic use so as to provide reference for clinical rational drug use.METHODS:According to Prescription Management Method and the Guiding Principles for Clinical Application of Antibacterials and Prescription Evaluation System, computer management system on antibacterials was constructed and a team on examining rational use of antibiotics was organized and measures was taken aimed at rational use of antibiotics.5 000 outpatient prescriptions from September to October in 2009(before intervention) and another 5 000 from September to October in 2010(after intervention) were randomly selected for analysis of the use of antibiotics by making spreadsheets.RESULTS:Of the 5 000 prescriptions sampled during Sept.-Oct.2009,antibiotics were used in 1 956(39%),and concurrent use of at least two antibiotics was noted in 23(1.18%) and irrational drug use in 98(5.01%);of the 5000 prescriptions sampled during Sept.-Oct.2010,antibiotics were used in 813(16.26%),and concurrent use of at least two antibiotics in 7(0.86%) and irrational drug use in 38(4.67%).The intervention of comment on prescriptions, the proportion of irrational use of antibiotics was significantly reduced while the quality of the prescriptions of antibiotics was significantly improved.CONCLUSION:The intervention measures can reduce the rate of antibiotic use and make the antibiotics use more rational.
