Title: Effect of Chinese medical herbal retention enema on renal function of patients with chronic renal failure
Abstract: AIM:To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medical herbal retention enema on renal function of patients with chronic renal failure. METHODS: Ninety cases of chronic renal fai-lure were randomly divided into 2 groups. Control group were treated with general western medicine therapy and treatment group were treated with Chinese medical herbal retention enema for 2 months (twice a day) in addition to the general therapy as control group. To investigate the renal function change of the 2 groups, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and creatinine clearance rate were measured every half month during treatment. RESULTS: The clinical outcome of treatment group was better than that of control group according the mean data of the renal function (P0.05). CONCLUSION: Chinese medical herbal retention enema in the treatment of chronic renal failure is an effective method to delay the renal failure progress.
