Abstract:The construction principle,application selection and error-correction performance of the forward error correction(FEC) code types to be applicable for optical communication systems have theoretically ...The construction principle,application selection and error-correction performance of the forward error correction(FEC) code types to be applicable for optical communication systems have theoretically been analyzed.The main construction principles of the FEC code type for optical communication systems are proposed.Both the simulation analyses and the comparative analyses of the error-correction performance for the in-band FEC code type and out-of-band FEC code type in optical communication systems are performed.The analyses show that the error-correction performances of the in-band FEC code type and out-of-band FEC code type are relatively lower,so it is necessary to study the super forward error correction(super-FEC) code type with the better error-correction performance in order to meet the requirements of the increasing development for optical communication systems.Read More
