Title: Modification of the Activated Carbon Electrode Applied in Organic Electric Double-layer Capacitors
Abstract: The activated carbon material which had high specific surface was modified with graphite, carbon black and carbon nano-tubes respectively. Then, the adulterant was made into different film electrodes that would be applied in electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) with organic electrolyte. The electrochemical tests proved that the specific capacitance and high power discharge performance of the activated carbon electrode modified with different carbon electron conducting materials are improved markedly in 1mol/L LiPF6/EC-DEC (volume 1:1) solution. The specific capacitance of the activated carbon electrode adulterated with 10% carbon nano-tubes could be 81F/g, and it had a 35% increase relative to the specific capacitance of pure activated carbon electrode. As the current density increasing from 60 mA/g to 330 mA/g, the capacitance holding of the adulterated electrode could be 79.4%.
