Title: Early rehabilitation on patients with severe traumatic brin injury
Abstract: Objective To Study the effect of early rehabilitation on patients with severe traumatic brain injury. Methods 89 patients with severe traumatic brain injury were divided randomly into the treatment group 49 cases and control group 40 cases. The patients of control group received neurosurgical nursing intervention, dehydront, brain protective therapy and alimental therapy ,controled complications for example pneumonia, infected urethal and stress ulcer, while the patients of treatment group were added with motor and cognitive rehabilitation,the main was physical therapy ,exercise therapy,psychoterapy and therapy of language for helping. Scores of Activities of daily living (ADL),Disability rating scale(DRS),Fugl-mayer assessment(FMA),Mini-mental status examination(MMSE),three class balance scale of all patients were recorded before and after treatment.Results The cores of ADL, DRS, Fugl-mayer and balance function of the treatment group patients were significantly different with that of the control group after treatment (p0.05).The MMSE scores of two groups had no significant difference after treatment(p0.05). Conclusion Early rehabilitation on the patients of severe traumatic brain injury can improve their brain function, improve their living quality and activities of daily living, and it can help them come back to society.
