Title: Species diversity of butterflies in Langyashan National Forest Park.
Abstract: The paper reported the species diversity of butterflies of Mt. Langyashan, Chuzhou, Anhui. A total of 4?454 specimens were collected and 57 species of 40 genera belonging to six families were identified. Species abundance and species diversity were analyzed by using Margalef species abundance model and Shannon-Wiener biodiversity index. Species abundance index decreased in the following order: forest (7.274?7), hilly cultivated land (5.349?9), and bare rock (3.300?8). On the other hand, the species diversity index decreased in a different sequence: forest (3.308?1), bare rock (2.462?8), and hilly cultivated land (2.000?9). The results indicated that the species are abundant and the ecosystem of Langyashan mountain is relatively intact.
