Title: Application of combined determination of CEA and CA724 in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of combined determination of CEA and CA724 for colorectal cancer. Methods Serum levels of CEA in 41 patients with colorectal cancer,46 patients with benign colorectal diseases, and 101 healthy controls were measured by chemoluminescence assay, and serum levels of CA724 in the three groups were detected by electrochemoluminescence assay. The diagnostic value of CEA and CA724 for colorectal cancer was analyzed. Results Serum levels of CEA and CA724 in patients with colorectal cancer were significantly higher than those in patients with benign colorectal diseases and healthy controls(P 0.05).And those in patients with benign colorectal diseases were significantly higher than those in healthy controls(P 0.05).The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of CEA for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer were 58.5%,76.0%,and 67.8%,respectively;those of CA724 were 34.1%,93.4%,and 65.5%,respectively;and those of combined detection of CEA and CA724 were 68.2%,71.7%,and 70.1%,respectively.Conclusion There are certain values of detection of CEA and CA724 for the diagnosis and effects-monitoring in colorectal cancer.Combined determination of CEA and CA724 was helpful to increase the detection rate of colorectal cancer.
