Title: Study on Megasporogenesis,Microsporogenesis and Development of Female and Male Gametophytes of Angelica Dahurica
Abstract: The megasporogenesis and microsporogenesis as well as the development of male and female gametophytes of Angelica dahurica were investigated by using the conventional method of paraffin section. The results show that in the ovary of A.dahurica, there are two chambers with one unitegmic, tenuinucellate and anatropous ovule.During the megasporogenesis, only one megasopore can continue to grow and develop, though several sporogoniums and megaspores might appear. After the meiosis process, the megaspore mother cell is divided into four linearly arrayed megaspores, but usually, only the one at the chalazal end is functionalized. It could also be observed that the embryo sac belongs to a Polygonum type in its development.During the microsporocyte meiosis process, the cytoplasm division could be attributed to the simultaneous type, while the microsporocyte tetrad belongs to tetrahedral type.Furthermore, the mature pollen is 3-cell type, the development of the another wall belongs to the bicotyledonous type, and the tapetum belongs to the glandular tapetum.
