Title: Study on the application of intravenous metoprolol to patients with acute myocardial infarction
Abstract: Objective: To access the clinical effect and safety of intravenous metoprolol therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods: On the base of normal treatment, intravenous metoprolol was given in 34 patients with acute myocardial infarction. The heart rates, blood pressure, heart failure syndrome, malignant ventricular arrhythmia and sudden death was observed. These data were compared with 40 patients of AMI without metoprolol injection therapy. Results: The heart rate decreased obviously after intravenous metoprolol was injected,from(103.6±14.5) bpm to(84.2±10.6) bpm;intravenous metoprolol can treat and prevent arrhythmias effectively(P0.05);malignant ventricular arrhythmia and sudden death showed statistical differences. Conclusion: Intravenous metoprolol is safe and efficacious in the treatment of the patients with acute myocardial infarction.
