Title: The Study of Echo-tracking Technology in Evaluating Smokers’ Carotid Artery Elasticity
Abstract: Objective Using echo-tracking technology(ET) to study the smokers' carotid artery elasticity function.Materials and Methods 89 smokers and 65 non-smokers were included in this study.Parameters related to arteriosclerosis gained by ET at double side carotid artery, including diastolic diameter(Dd),systolic diameter(Ds),intimamedia thickness(IMT),stiffness parameters(B),pressure-strain elastic modulus(EP),arterial compliance(AC),pulse amplification index(AI),and pulse wave transmission speed(PWV B) were recorded and analyzed. Results There Was no significant difference of all parameters between the double sides carotid artery(P0.05);Dd、Ds、IMT also showed no significant difference between smokers and non-smokers.(P0.05);β、Ep、AI and PWVβ were higher in smokergroup than non-smoker-group,while AC was lower than non-smokers.There were statistic differences among the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion ET can be used conveniently and non-invasively to access the smokers' carotid artery elasticity function, and find early arteriosclerosis accurately
