Title: Efficacy Observation of the Early Postoperative Inflammatory Intestinal Obstruction Treated with the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine
Abstract: Objective To explore the advantage and value of the integrated Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of early inflammatory intestinal obstruction. Methods One hundred and eighty-six cases of early inflammatory intestinal obstruction were randomized into a control group and a treatment group. In the treatment group, the conservative therapy of western medicine was applied such as complete fasting, gastrointestinal decompression, somatostatin and dexamethasone. The oral intake was recovered when the intestinal function was restored after a proper enteral nutrition. In the treatment group,on the basic treatment as the control group, the dose of somatostatin and hormone was reduced.Instead,Chinese herbal decoction was supplemented and enema, external application, acupuncture and moxibustion were applied. The differences were summarized and analyzed between the classical non-operative treatment program and the integrated Chinese and western medicine. Results The difference in the overall efficacy was not significant statistically between the control group and the treatment group(P0.05).The differences were significant statistically in the first intake time, defecation time and admission duration between the treatment group and the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The integrated Chinese and western medicine achieves the definite efficacy on early inflammatory intestinal obstruction and shortens the treatment duration.
