Title: Psychologies and Destinies of Poets in the Late Tang Dynasty for Peasants' Revolt
Abstract: In the late Tang Dynasty, facing peasants' revolt, especially Huang Chao's revolt, intellectuals, especially sensitive poets, broke up swiftly. Some joined the revolt army and fought directly against rulers. Others upheld incorrigibly the stand of feudalist landlords and opposed the revolt. Others, who were imperial courtiers, tried to gain advantage out of troubled world. But the more adopted avoid the reality and ensured their own survival. All these psychologies, to some degree, determined their destinies. There are both subjective factor and objective factor for the reasons. The former had to do with their specific status, and the latter concerned about the social reality of the late Tang Dynasty and the peculiarity of peasants' revolt.
