Title: Influence of Imperial Examination in Late Tang Dynasty on Poor Scholars' Poetic Creation
Abstract: In Late Tang Dynasty, after the demise of Emperor Wenzong, unfair and unreasonable competition became widespread at sites of imperial examination, and justice fell into a decline. Poor scholars, long oppressed and poverty-stricken, were severely wrecked in body and mind .with the loss of their shelf-respect and confidence, these scholar, once showing contempt for households of powerful families in their characters and writings, gradually gave way to distress and begging for mercy. Such transformation hugely influenced their poetic creation.
