Title: Comparison of nuclide imaging and MR perfusion weighted imaging in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases
Abstract: Objective To compare the diagnostic value of cerebral glucose metabolism imaging, cerebral blood flow perfusion imaging, and MR perfusion weighted imaging (PWI) in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. Methods We compared the results of 78 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases and 26 patients with only single-side involvement who underwent all the three examinations. Results The positive rates of brain glucose metabolism imaging, cerebral blood flow perfusion imaging and PWI in 78 patients were 97.44%, 94.87% and 82.05%, respectively. Compared brain glucose metabolism imaging, brain blood flow perfusion imaging with PWI, there were significant differences (P=0.012 and 0.002, respectively). The positive rate of brain glucose metabolism imaging, cerebral blood flow perfusion imaging and PWI in 26 patients with single-side involvement were 96.15%, 92.31% and 92.31%, respectively, and there was no significant difference among them (P=0.552). Conclusion Brain glucose metabolism imaging and cerebral blood flow perfusion imaging were sensitive in diagnosing ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. But the three methods were all sensitive in diagnosing ischemic cerebrovascular diseases caused by single-side affected vessels.
