Title: Effect of extract of paeonia lactiflora and salvia miltiorrhiza on liver fibrosis induced by BSA in Rats
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the anti-liver fibrosis effect of extract of paeonia lactiflora and salvia miltiorrhiza in experimental rats. Methods: Rat liver fibrosis models were induced by injection of bovine serum albumin(BSA) in vein of tail. Rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, normal group, model group, positive control group treated by colchicines, and three PS groups (high, moderate and low dosage) The therapeutic effect on liver fibrosis of extract of paeonia lactiflora and salvia miltiorrhiza was investigated through gastrogavage. Results: Compared with model group, levels of serum albumin (ALB), alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), hyaluronic acid (HA),laminin (LN), typeIII procollagen (PCⅢ) and type IV collagen (ⅣC) in the treatment groups were obviously improved. It had significantly statistical difference(P 0.05). Pathological result showed that the liver fibrosis in PS groups was significantly improved. Conclusion:The extract of paeonia lactiflora and salvia miltiorrhiza has significant therapeutic effect on BSA-induced liver fibrosis in rats.
