Title: EXPRESSIONS OF Notch1 AND C-erBb-2 IN BREAST CARCINOMA
Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between expressions of Notch1 and C-erBb-2 protein in breast carcinoma, and explore the correlation between the two markers. Methods The expressions of Notch1 and C-erBb-2 in 60 breast cancers and 20 of paraneoplastic tissue were detected by immunohistochemical method. Results The positive expressions of both Notch1 and C-erBb-2 in the cancer were obviously higher than that in paraneoplastic normal breast tissue(χ2=29.511,29.474;P0.01).The expression of Notch1 was related to clinical staging and lymph node metastasis(χ2=5.881,4.716;P0.05),and that of C-erBb-2 related with whether or not the lymph node was involved(χ2=8.341,P0.05).The expression of Notch1 was positively correlated with C-erBb-2 in breast cancer(r=0.451,P0.01).Conclusion The high expressions of Notch1 and C-erBb-2 are associated with the occurrence, development and metastasis of breast cancer,a combined detection of these two markers is conducive to predicting the potential of metastasis and prognosis of this malignancy.
