Title: Changes and clinical significance of plasma brain natriuretic peptide and Copeptin in patients with acute myocardial infarction
Abstract: 【Objective】To investigate the changes and clinical significance of plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) and C-terminal portion of pro-vasopressin(Copeptin) in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).【Methods】 The levels of BNP and Copeptin were measured in 68 patients with acute myocardial infarction and 20 normal controls.Total mortality and the risk for major adverse cardiac events(MACE,including death, recurrent myocardial infarction and angina pectoris, heart failure, readmission for any reason) at 30 days were analyzed.【Results】The levels of BNP and Copeptin in group AMI and group AMI with heart failure(HF) were significantly higher than those in the normal controls(P 0.01),the levels of them in group AMI with HF were significantly higher than those in group AMI(P 0.01).The levels of BNP and Copeptin in group MACE are significantly higher than those in group without MACE(P 0.01).【Conclusions】Plasma levels of BNP and Copeptin are higher in AMI,and detecting BNP and Copeptin levels may bring more instructive information in diagnosis, prognostic value, and risk stratification of AMI.
