Title: The Evaluation of the Antituberculosis Effect of Levofloxacin on multi-drug resistant tuberculosis
Abstract: Objectives To observe and evaluate the curative effect of levofloxacin on multi-drug resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB). Methods 71 cases with MDR-TB were divided into experimental group (n=36) and control group (n=35) randomly by paired design. Chemotherapy schedule: In trial group, in addition to levofloxacin, more than 3 sensitive drugs or new drugs which were not used before were used. In control group, levofloxacin was not used, while other drugs were the same to trial group. Results Three months later, the sputum negative conversion rates were 61.1% in trial group and 37.1% in control group. At the end of treatment, the rates were 80.6% and 51.4% respectively. The difference between two groups was significant (p0.01,or p0.05). The adverse reaction rates of drug were 19.4% (trial group) and 17.1% (control group). The difference between two groups was insignificant (P0.05). Conclusions The therapeutic schedule with levofloxacin is effective and safe for MDR-TB .
