Title: Chemical constituents from the underground parts of Iris hexagona Walter
Abstract: Objective: To determine the chemical constituents from the underground parts of Iris hexagona Walter. Methods: The compounds were separated and purified by silica gel and sephadex column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic methods. Results: Seven compounds were isolated from the 70% alcohol extracts, and identified as irilin B(1),tectoridin(2),trans-ferulic acid(3),syringic acid(4),vanillic acid(5),β-sitosterol(6),and β-daucosterol(7).Conclusion: All the compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
