Title: Imaging diagnosis of retinoblastoma in children
Abstract: Objective To study imaging features of retinoblastoma and the value in diagnosis.Methods Thirty-one cases with retinoblastoma proved by pathology were analyzed respectively,of whom CT scan was performed in 31 cases,MRI in 14 cases and ultrasound examination in 4 cases.Results Twenty-nine cases had typical CT findings such as soft tissure mass on the back wall of the eyeball,path or mass calcification(except for 4 cases) within the lesion,enlargement of optic nerve in 3 cases.On MRI,masses in the eyeball were showed in 14 cases and 2 cases with enlargement of the optic nerve.On ultrasound,the echo of mass on the back wall of eyeball was showed in 4 cases,which had calcification with shadow.Conclusion CT has important value in qualitative diagnosis.For the tumor without calcification or with invasion of the optic nerve,MRI scan is very important.Ultrasound,especially colour ultrasound,can show calcification and blood folw singal for analyzing the mass further.
