Title: The study of Venlafaxine and Fluoxetine Treatingthe senile patients with depressive disorder and without psychotic symptom
Abstract: Objective To compare the effects and safeties of Venlafaxine and Fluoxetine on the senile patients with depressive disorder and without psychotic symptom . Methods The patients met with the CCMD - 3 for depression were divided randomly into Ve-nalfaxine group and fluoxetine one. After 8 weeks were tested with HAMD/TESS . Results The improvement rate was 75% in Venlafaxine group and 70% in Fluoxetine one, the side effects were minimal . Conclusion Both Venlafaxine and Fluoxetine were suitable for the first line drugs in treatment with the senile patients with depressive disorder and without psychotic symptom , and the first was better than the other one.
