Title: A comparative study of quetiapine and olanzapine in the treatment of mental disorders due to use of alcohol
Abstract: Objective:To compare the efficacy and side effects of Quetiapine and Olanzapine in the treatment of Mental Disorders due to Use of Alcohol.Methods:68 Mental Disorders due to Use of Alcohol were randomly divided into Quetiapine group(n = 36) and Olanzapine group(n = 32).They were treated for 6 weeks.The clinical efficacy and side effects were evaluated with PANSS、TESS and RSESE before treatment and 1、2、4、6 weeks after treatment.Results:There were significant efficacy in Quetiapine gronp and Olanzapine group,there were no significant difference between two groups(p0.05).Incidences of extra-pyramidal symptoms and other adverse effects were low,there were no significant difference between two groups(p0.05).Conclusion:Quetiapine and Olanzapine showed efficacy and safety in the treatment of Mental Disorders due to Use of Alcohol.
