Title: A control study of tianeptine and fluoxetine in the treatment of depression
Abstract: Objective:To study the efficacy and safety of tianeptine and fluoxetine in the treatment of depression.Methods:60 depressed patients were randomized into tianeptine group(n=30) and fluoxetine group(n=30),and studied for 6 week.HAMD and self-edited scale were used to assess the efficacy and side effects before and 1st week,2nd week,4th week and 6th week after the treatment.Results: There was no significant difference in efficacy between the two groups.HAMD scores decreased dramatically lower in the tianeptine group than that in the fluoxetine group.The efficacy rate of tianeptine was 90.0%,in which 73.3% were improved markedly.The efficacy rate of quetiapine was 90.0%,in which 80.0% were improved markedly.There was no significantly difference in the side effects between two groups.Conclusions: It is suggested that both drugs are effective exactly in the treatment of depressive patients.They had few side effects and can be a first drug choice.
