Title: The treatment of high risk patients with benign prostate hyperplasia and midian-size bladder stones
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the safty and efficiency of transurethral vaporization resection of prostate (TUVP-TURP) and percutaneous pneumatic lithotripsy for high risk patients with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and bladder stones. Methods The clinic data of 82 high risk patients from our department from Jan. 2000 to June. 2010 with BPH and medium size (4-10 cm2) bladder stone were retrospectively analyzed. The control group of 42 patients were treated by TUVP-TURP and transurethral pneumatic lithotripsy. The treated group of 40 patients were treated by transurethral vaporization-resection of prostate and percataneous pneumatic lithotripsy. Then we compared the operation time, transoperative blood loss, complications of two groups and follow-up. Results There was significant difference in operation time and transoperative blood loss, The operation time of the treated group was shorter than the control(P0.05), and the transoperative blood loss of the treated group was less(P0.05). There was no significant difference in postoperative IPSS scores and maximum rate of flow(P0.05). The incidence of transurethral resection syndrome of the treated group was less than the control group. There was no significant difference in incidence of capsula prostatical perforation, incontinence, injury of ureteral orifice, bleeding and arounding organ injury. Conclusion Simutaneous TUVP-TURP and percutaneous pneumatic lithotripsy is safe and effective for treatment of high risk patients with BPH and bladder stone.
