Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the role of Insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)in liver fibrogenesis via investigating the expression of IGF-1 in rats with liver fibrosis.METHODS Liver fibrosis models of rats we...OBJECTIVE To explore the role of Insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)in liver fibrogenesis via investigating the expression of IGF-1 in rats with liver fibrosis.METHODS Liver fibrosis models of rats were made by subcutaneously injecting with CCl4.Thirty two male SD rats(weight 250-300 g) were randomly sacrificed 1,4 and 8 weeks after injection of CCl4 respectively,and their liver tissues were used for examining IGF-1 by immunohistochemistry stain.RESULTS The expression of IGF-1 in rats after injection with CCl4 was found chiefly in hepatocytes and all significantly higher than those in normal rats(P0.01).Moreover,it increased progressively the expression of IGF-1 respectively at 1st,4th and 8th week after injection with CCl4(P0.01)CONCLUSION The overexpression of IGF-1 may accelerate the procedure of liver fibrosis via enhancing hepatocytes and hepatic stellate cells proliferation.Read More
