Title: Choice of Examination of Intra-knee Fracture (Attached 142 Cases)
Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of X-ray plain film in the diagnosis of intra-knee fracture. Methods 142 cases of intra-knee fracture by plain film were retrospectively analyzed. All of the cases underwent radiograph for A.P., Lateral projections; some were added R. and L. oblique projections. 24 cases underwent CT scan. Results In the first examination, 127 cases were showed by plain film of A.P., Lateral projections, 8 cases by R. and L. oblique projections and axial view. In the second examination, 139 cases were showed by plain film (Fracture lines could not be showed in 3 cases due to the outside plaster), and 22 cases by CT scan. Conclusion Radiograph is the primary choice for intra-knee fracture. As the additional examination, CT scan can not only find the occult fracture but also the changes of articular cartilage and soft tissues.
