Title: Expressions and significance of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans-isomerase 1 and cyclin D1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expressions and significance of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans-isomerase 1(Pin1) and cyclin D1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods The expressions of Pin1 and Cyclin D1 protein of 37 ESCC samples were detected by immunohistochemical SP method. The influence of the clinicopathologic parameters on the expressions of Pin1 and Cyclin D1 protein in ESCC was analyzed. Results No expression or a faint nuclear expression of Pin1 could be found in normal tissue adjacent to the cancer cells, but positive expression was found in cancerous tissue.Cyclin D1 in normal tissue adjacent to the cancer cells didn′t express, but the expression of it in cytoplasm or nuclei of cancer cell was positive or stronger. The expression of Pin1 in the cases with lymphatic metastasis was higher than the cases without lymphatic metastasis(P0.05).Clinicopathologic parameters such as differentiated degree, age, gender and tumor stage, had no obvious influence on the expression of Pin1(P0.05).The higher differentiated degree was,the expression of Cyclin D1 was lower, and the lower differentiated degree was,the expression of Cyclin D1 was higher(P0.05).Clinicopathologic parameters such as age, gender and tumor stage, had no obvious influence on the expression of Cyclin D1(P0.05).Conclusion The expressions of Pin1 and Cyclin D1 in ESCC increase obviously. The Pin1 and Cyclin D1 promote tumorigenesis by regulating cell cycle by their interreaction.
