Title: Diagnostic value of DWI/MRI for brainstem infarction
Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of DWI/MRI for brainstem infarction. Methods The clinical symptoms and image menifestations made by MRI(T1WI,T2WI,FLAIR,DWI sequence)in 49 patients with brainstem infarction were respectively analyzed. Results There were 74 focus in 49 patients, including 49 new lesions and 25 old lesions.T1WI showed 38 lesions among all the new lesions. The detection rate was 77.6%.T2WI showed 49 lesions in all the new lesions. The detection rate was 100%.FLAIR showed all new lesions, and detection rate was 100%.But T2WI and FLAIR couldn't identify the pathogenic time of the lesions.DWI showed 42 new lesions of all new lesions, and detection rate was 85.7%,all the 25 old lesions showed long T1 and long T2 signal,FLAIR showed high signal and no signal changes showed on DWI.Conclusion DWI is superior to conventional MRI in detecting the lesions and evaluating the course of disease.
