Abstract:Objective To evaluate the accuracy of Raypex 5 and Elements Diagnostic electronic apex locators(EALs) in measuring root canal length.Methods Forty extracted single root canal mandibular premolars were...Objective To evaluate the accuracy of Raypex 5 and Elements Diagnostic electronic apex locators(EALs) in measuring root canal length.Methods Forty extracted single root canal mandibular premolars were used.The actual length was measured with an aid of 15# K file,and electronic length was measured separately with Raypex 5 and Elements Diagnostic EALs.The results obtained with each EAL were compared with the corresponding actual length.Results The percentage of correct measurements of Raypex 5 was 87.5%,while Elements Diagnostic was 92.5%,and there were no statistically significant differences between the two devices.Conclusion Both EALs provided an accurate and useful determination of the root canal length.Read More
