Title: A Study of Graft Polymerization of Acrylic Acid and Starch
Abstract: Graft polymerization of acrylic acid and cassava starch was studied by using ammonium persulfate—sodium bisulfate as initiator. The reaction conditions affecting the graft rate and graft efficiency were investigated. The optimal reaction conditions were as follows: acrylic acid: starch(mass ratio)=4:1;ammonium persulfate: starch(mass ratio)=1.5%:1;ammonium persulfate: sodium bisufite(mole ratio)=3:1;the neutral degree of monomer was 70%;reaction temperature was 35℃;reaction time was 3h;the graft rate was 19.9%;and the graft efficiency was 78.4%.
