Title: The Value of MSCT in Percutaneous Transthoracic Lung Biopsy
Abstract: Objective To introduce MSCT guided percutaneous transthoracic lung biopsy technique and to evaluate the application of this technique.Materials and Methods 42 patients with 42 pulmonary lesions were performed percutaneous transthoracic lung biopsy under the guidance of 16 slices MSCT.Results All the 42 patients were performed percutaneous transthoracic lung biopsy successfully. The biopsy achievement rate was 100%.Onetime achievement rate was 88.2% for the small pulmonary peripheral lesions and 86.7% for the lesions around the pulmonary hilus.40 cases obtained pathological diagnosis after biopsy. The diagnostic success rate and the accuracy of biopsy both were 95.2%.Complications including 2 cases of pneumothorax(4.8%) and 2 cases of pneumorrphagia(4.8%) occurred. Conclusion MSCT can not only improve the technical achievement rate, the diagnostic success rate and the accuracy of biopsy for the small pulmonary peripheral lesions and the lesions around the pulmonary hilus, but also reduce the complications.
