Title: Expression and Clinical Significance of doc1 mRNA in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective:To study the expression of oral cancer suppressor gene doc1 in squamous cell carcinoma and the relationship between doc1 mRNA expression and the tumor genesis and development. Methods:The expression of doc1 in 30 squamous cell carcinoma specimens and 20 normal oral mucosa specimens were detected by half quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The correlation between the expression of doc1 mRNA and the grade of carcinoma was evaluated. Results:The positive expression of doc1 mRNA in squamous cell carcinoma was significantly reduced and showed statistical difference when compared with normal oral mucosa(P0.01).The expression of doc1 mRNA in squamous cell carcinoma was correlated to the grade of oral squamous cell carcinoma.Conclusion:Doc1 may play an important role in tumor genesis, development, and invasion of oral squamous cell carcinoma, and can serve as a molecular marker for early diagnosis and prediction of invasion of squamous cell carcinoma.
